To celebrate twenty years of global broking excellence, we wanted to hear directly from some of these leading voices, find out more about their Brokerslink journeys and learn about the major changes in the market since the network was launched.

First, we speak to Executive Board member and CEO of Ardonagh Netherlands, Sunny Léons.

Sunny, in your view, what are some of the biggest milestones Brokerslink has achieved over the last 20 years?

I could mention many milestones, but by far the most important one is that under the leadership of José Manuel Fonseca, an international network has been established.

This network provides continuity and great opportunities for all its partners and affiliates. Furthermore, the network has successfully expanded across all continents, creating a big family where all brokers are protected by the 'one broker per country rule'.

How has the global insurance market evolved since 2004? And how did Brokerslink contribute to it?

The market has been internationalized in recent decades. For insurance brokers, an international network is indispensable nowadays, we would not have a reason to exist without this network.

Brokerslink has become one of the most important parts of our company over the past 20 years. In short, Brokerslink has played a significant role in the development of our company into an international insurance broker.

How has the role of independent broking changed over the years?

The role of the broker has not changed in recent years. Although an international network is indispensable, the customer is and remains the most important. It's about service, customer focus, and trust. This will not change in the future either. Brokerslink is built on these foundations and communicates this to its shareholders and partners. That is and will remain the basis for our success.

What are some of your proudest Brokerslink moments?

One of the most beautiful moments was the founding of the AG, which allowed many network participants to become shareholders. This has only increased the involvement with Brokerslink. But I am most proud of the team that represents Brokerslink's interests so fantastically and the cohesion among the partners. We are a company, but we are still a big family. Therefore, I am most proud of our unique DNA.
